About us

HISTORY

The Moxon Dance Centre is a purpose built studio, and was the brain-child of Roy Moxon. He together with his wife Dorothy and their staff, have given many adults and children in the Burton-upon-Trent area the chance to enjoy all that dancing can offer.

A large ballroom was built with a maple-sprung floor together and all the facilities it needed. It was opened on 26th September 1979 by the then world professionals, Bill and Bobby Irvine. The first couple to dance in the ballroom were professionals Richard and Janet Gleave.
